Kokrajhar, 18th August (northeastnews): The Japanese encephalitis has assumed alarming proportions in Kokrajhar district with 6 persons having died during the last three months while 11 others are being treated of which five which are in critically condition have been admitted at GMCH Guwahati causing fear and panic in BTAD areas.

Kokrajhar, 18th August (northeastnews): Orai Swmkhwr a Kokrajhar based Non Government Organization (NGO) which has been taking initiatives for welfare of older people who cannot maintain their life due to loneliness, has established a “Gwjwn Dera” an Old Age Home at Bagan Sali no7, where 10 older people will be able to take shelter from today after the same was inaugurated.

Kokrajhar, 16th August (northeastnews): The Saralbhanga River overflowing from Bhutan was breached by about 40 meters with six villages namely Nepalibasti, North Banglajora south Banglajorah, Khacibari, Uttar patgaon and adivasi bosti under the Dotma Development block being undated by flooding waters thus effecting nearly 195 families and thousands of hectares of standing crops and live stock.
