Kokrajhar, 5th May (northeastnews): In a region where the government has failed to check the flow of illegal arms resulting in loss of life of hundreds of innocent people, the BTAD Chief Hagrama Mohilary who is also President of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) along with other intellectuals and members of powerful student unions have opposed any move by the government to supply arms to the civilians specially the minority community members for their security.

Kokrajhar, 4th May (northeastnews): State Forest Minister Rokibul Hussein has asked the BTAD administration to immediately take steps to seize all illegal arms in BTAD areas, after visiting the trouble torn Balapar part-1 village of Gossaigaon subdivision in kokrajhar where 8 innocent people were killed by the unidentified armed groups on Thursday night.

Guwahati, 4th May (IANS): People in two Assam villages have refused to bury those killed in violence unleashed by suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants since Thursday, until the chief minister assures them justice, at least 32 people have been killed since the killings started four days ago in BTAD areas of Kokrajhar and Baksa districts.
