Tura, 16th June (northeastnews): In a joint Bangaluru - Meghalaya police operation, Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA)'s vice-chairman and political secretary, Rafius Marak was today arrested from his residence in Bangaluru and produced in magistrate court there as he is wanted in Meghalaya in connection with many criminal cases committed by GNLA.

New Delhi, 16th June (IANS): Rajiv Takru, a 1979 batch officer of the Gujrat cadre and secretary in the department of revenue under the finance ministry, has been made secretary in the ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) as The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday approved the assignment of three secretaries in various ministries, an official statement said.

Tura, 15th June (northeastnews): Meghalaya’s most wanted militant, self-styled chairman of United A’chik Liberation Army (UALA) Chiindik Marak was brought to Tura on Sunday for interrogation from Guwahati after he was detained there on Saturday from a city hospital by special operation unit of Assam police.
